This is my monthly ‘beauty hotlist’ - a round up of the launches that are genuinely worth buying, and what’s all hype. It drops every payday, but only paid subscribers will have access to this insider edit. For full access upgrade now…

1. Is Haus Labs by Lady Gaga worth it?

When I heard that Lady Gaga had a beauty brand a couple of years back, I was like please Satan, no more of this celebrity beauty bullshit. So few of them actually deliver anything interesting or are done with a genuine passion for beauty, they’re just a way to profit off fans which royally fucks me off.

Haus Labs, Lady Gaga’s make-up brand has just launched at Sephora in the UK and I’ve been asked about it a lot on Insta. So here’s my verdict: just excuse that batshit face I pull at the start…

WHAT I RATED:
- Hy-Power Eye, Cheek & Lip Pigment Paint in Rose Gold, £23
-Atomic Shake Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Sepia Shine and Cherry Shine, £26

WHAT I DIDN’T RATE:
-
Foundation - a huge 51 shades which is great and the formulation was nice but didn’t feel hugely special to me.
-Eyeliners - same as above.
-Lip Oil - the shade Secondary was nice enough and made my lips glossy with a little orange tint, but I’d still pick the Typology lip oils - they’re my fave.
-Lipstick pencils - these are super matte and a little powdery; I just wasn’t wowed.
- Powder highlighter - I tried Rose Quartz, a very pale pink which would suit pale skins more, but I generally think cream highlighters better than powder ones as a rule. Just FYI Chanel Baum Essentiel (I use Golden light) is the best highlighter I’ve tried, followed by Ciate Dewy Stix which is a smidgen more glittery and looks more ‘wet’ rather than glossy.

2. Monika Blunder Lush Lipstick Crayons

I honestly think the Monika Blunder concealer is incredible and worth the price (it’s £45, and the pot is giant,) but when I was sent these lip/cheek pencils £28 my first reaction was ‘these look kinda boring TBH.’

But I grabbed one as I left the house last week, and I honestly can say it’s one of the best multi-use (ie use it on cheeks, lips, lid etc) colour products I’ve tried. They’re super pigmented (which is particularly great for skin of colour) and slightly on the drier side which means they last ages on the skin. I’m loving the shade Valentina which doesn’t seem to be available in the UK, but Anna Maria (below) looks pretty similar. They’re a speedy way to do your make-up on the go - as somebody who always wants a shortcut, I fully back them.

3. K18 in salon treatment and at home mask

If you dye your hair at the salon, chances are the stylist used Olaplex (or something similar) on your hair. And if you like it, then you’re going to love K18.
